chromosome 21 open reading frame 41

This gene is transcribed with alternatively spliced transcript variants but it does not appear to encode a protein. The gene lies in the same orientation as the glutamate receptor, ionotropic, kainate 1 (GRIK1) locus and has some of its exons interspersed with GRIK1 exons. Other exons of this locus overlap some exons belonging to the BTB and CNC homology 1, basic leucine zipper transcription factor 1 (BACH1) locus which lies in the opposite orientation. The independent existence of this gene is supported by transcriptional evidence and the lack of a common ORF between this gene and GRIK1.

  • Oncogenic pathway deregulation in mammary epithelial cells

score: 100100 | Homo sapiens Homo sapiens | RNA Expression   RNA Expression

To develop a series of gene expression signatures that reliably reflect the activation status of several oncogenic pathways, RNA was extracted from human mammary epithelial cells expressing oncogenes (or GFP control) for gene array analysis.

  • VZV infection of T cells and fibroblasts and SCIDhu skin xenografts.

score: 100100 | Homo sapiens Homo sapiens | RNA Expression   RNA Expression

During primary infection, varicella-zoster virus (VZV) is spread via lymphocytes to skin, where it induces a rash and establishes latency in sensory ganglia. A live, attenuated varicella vaccine (vOka) was generated by using the VZV Oka strain (pOka), but the molecular basis for vOka attenuation rem…
